What's most important when you buy a silk scarf? Who made it? How it was made? Price? Who's selling it? How important is fair trade?
-
Fair Trade is really important, when you are helping someone make a fair wage for that silk scarf, you do that when you buy Fair Trade
-
Ethical purchasing is really important. There is no "Fair Trade" silk produced yet. I want a beautiful unique piece, when I buy a scarf.
-
Checked out your website and love everything about it. I am west coast Cdn and work in Cambodia. I would love to talk more.
-
I agree about the silk scarf, just used it as an example, but I couldn't agree with you more about ethical buying, that is Fair Trade!
-
The Fair Trade/Ethical Purchasing lingo is tricky. So many sell their gear as "fair trade" yet have no relationship with the producers.
-
In a relationship producers can spk about what they need and exchange knowledge and experience. The "trade" is about a better world.
-
Wfbip works with the producers, and I agree, there are a lot of Fakes out there, so ask a lot of ?'s to make sure

Fair trade involves transparency; TAMMACHAT tells the stories about the relationships we build with artisan groups: http://bit.ly/3RzogW
