SoS: How are you different than @bob_t0? Are you following a huge number of people just to juice your follower count?
-
Following huge numbers makes my head spin. So many ppl have interesting things to say, but I can barely keep track of wgo in my queue now!
-
@lizzyliz I'm one to talk, I'm following 700+, but that built up over time. I see something new now. People are following 100s in days.
-
Ah, yes. That's true. I do follow (try) those who follow me, but you're right: If I'm not interested in our convos, what's the point?
-
@MikeLangford Depends on the purposes. Think I've seen more fake or questionable accnts lately as the Phishing attack commenced.
-
I'm interested in what's going on across MA, in the worlds of tech, nonprofits, music, & more, so I follow lots, but can't read every tweet
-
I think peoples follower to following ratio should be about even. It does fluster me when people follow 1000 people right off the bat.
-
Tweetdeck groups help, and I just found http://twittangle.com/ which could also make organizing & keeping up with friends easier.
-
@kgilnack The bots I get but I'm seeing more and more newbies who are following huge numbers with purpose of driving up their own count.
-
@kgilnack Tweetdeck absolutely is great for managing your contact list.
-
@mitchjoel Made a few comments yesterday http://is.gd/ey3k & http://is.gd/ey3t that speak to my SoS call. I share his concern.
-
@spazcer I recently had someone follow me who touts himself as an expert in helping people learn to game Twitter. Get 1,000 followers in day
-
This might have something to do with it. http://is.gd/9Y3S. Guy basically telling people to follow as many people as they can.
-
@MikeLangford anyone can "game twitter", I've even made my own autofollowers. The question is can they use Twitter effectively.
-
@spazcer Agreed, like any tool it is how you use it. The challenge I see is to the stability of the twitterverse.
